Earlier today, I managed to secure a hotel roughly within a 3/4ths of a mile of the San Jose Convention Center on Friday, May 27th, 2011 for FanimeCon 2011. At $84 dollars a night for 3 nights, it will roughly be $270 for the hotel stay (including taxes, since it was better than the $600+ the Hotel De Anza was charging). So, with that taken care of, other than getting the train tickets for the Coast Starlight AMTRAK train on Friday morning, everything is in place. Below is what will be happening for me at FanimeCon 2011.

Friday: Day One
* Catch the 3:50 AM Coast Starlight (AMTRAK) from Chico, California down to Sacramento, California (2 Hours: arrival in SAC at 6:25 AM)
*Catch the 7:00 AM Capitol Express (AMTRAK) from Sacramento down to San Jose, California (slightly over 3 hours: arrival by 10:30 AM)
*Catch Cab from AMTRAK/CALTRAIN station to San Jose Convention Center
*Get in line for FanimeCon 2011 at entrance
*Begin making rounds of Convention Center, taking cosplay photos and asking several cosplayers several questions related to the Cosplay Feature that I will be writing for AnimeVice.
*Attend some of the scheduled Gatherings until 4 PM, in which I must head to the hotel to check in.
*Check in at Arena Hotel by HP Pavilion (Shark Tank), return via cab to FanimeCon by 5 PM
*Attend the VOCALOID concert on Stage Zero, and then head over and meet with the VOCALOID gathering, which has agreed to be featured in my Cosplay article for AV.
*Make rounds of Convention, taking more photos, doing several interviews, and then look into events that evening and for Saturday.
*Return to Arena Hotel

Saturday: Day Two
*Head off for FanimeCon from Arena Hotel
*Attend some of the panels, take more cosplaying photos, and do several more interviews.
*Meet up with the POKEMON gathering, which like the VOCALOID group, has agreed to participate in my feature on Cosplaying (images and several members interviewed).
*Meet up with the K-ON! gathering, which like the VOCALOID and POKEMON gatherings, has agreed to participate in my feature on Cosplaying.
*Make rounds of Convention, doing more photos and enjoying the panels, events, and make way back to Arena Hotel by sundown (if no major events are not happening that night)

Sunday: Day Three
*Head off for FanimeCon to attend more gatherings and events.
*Make rounds of Convention, taking some more cosplay photos and perhaps another interview or two.
*Take some time to enjoy the Convention without running around with my camera...will look around and have fun.
*Return to Arena Hotel for last night.

Monday: Day Four
*Attend FanimeCon for 2-3 more hours to catch any of the remaining gatherings that are of interest, make one last round of Convention, and then return to hotel.
*Check out of hotel at noon (checkout time).
*Return to AMTRAK station (catch train to Sacramento)
*Call home, get ride to pick me up from the I Street Station in Sacramento 3 hours later
*Return home, rest for several hours, and begin writing my 3 to 4 page feature for AnimeVice on Cosplaying & Those Who Cosplay (complete with images, interviews, opinions, and thoughts/impressions from FanimeCon.

*Day After FanimeCon (Tuesday): Upload Cosplay/FanimeCon 2011 images onto DeviantArt and AnimeVice.
*One Week after FanimeCon: Upload story/article to AnimeVice for approval (needs approval of AV Staff)

After that, I have the KinToki-Con 2011 in Sacramento to look forward to June 16th to 18th in Sacramento. Will be doing Cosplay images and perhaps another article on Cosplay (smaller one, due to it being a smaller Con).

Well...that sums up my FanimeCon 2011 schedule...if you are attending FanimeCon 2011 and are in cosplay, just give me a ring! (PM or E-mail). I will take your pictures for free and upload them onto DeviantArt for you to download!

As a average photographer who takes images for the Butte College Roadrunner, the once-a-month newspaper publication, most of my shots revolve around what I am assigned with taking images of by either my editor Chris or my fellow photographer Nathan (who takes some really neat images). On my free time, I like to take images of whatever captures my eye, and therefore most of my uploaded images on DeviantArt are usually images from around our property or in town. I will be taking cosplay photos at three anime conventions this year (FanimeCon 2011, KinToki-Con 2011, and SACAnime Summer 2011), and I hope to capture some great images from all three events to load up onto my account.

I attended one day (Friday, May 28th) of FanimeCon 2010 in San Jose, taking over 77 images of various cosplayers that came across from 9 AM to 2:25 PM, the time I had to leave. Out of those 77 or so images, I only had a handful of good images, due to my then in-experience and the jitters of attending my first ever Con at 19. This year, with several thousand more images worth of experience under my belt and armed with better lenses (55-250mm), I should be able to take better images this year.

As for the plant/wild animal images that I upload, the majority of those are taken on our property (mainly out in the side field, around the woodpile, or by my grandmother's house) while the others are taken at Butte College or in Upper Bidwell Park.

By the way, I will be doing photos for the "Chroma" fashion show at Butte College on Friday night...30+ models showing off the newest trends and creations of the Butte Fashion Department. I will be uploading the best images that I take onto here by midnight later that night after I return.

Hello, my fellow DeviantArt members, and welcome to the first of what should be many blogs that I write here. Today, I will be discussing my upcoming month, what major events will be taking place, and what I hope to accomplish.

In May, the Spring semester at Butte College winds down to a end, concluding with Finals that take place from May 23rd to May 26th, 2011. I will be having finals in my MSP-10 (Digital Video Production), MSP-18 (Photoshop Production), JOUR-6 (Newspaper Production), and MSP-74/75 (Digital Media Production). I have a lot of work that has to be done for each class, but I have it under control and almost all of the remaining work finished.

Two days after my last Final at Butte College, I will be departing for Sacramento, California in the wee hours of May 27th so that I can catch the Capital Express AMTRAK train to San Jose, California to attend FanimeCon 2011. This year, I will be going on behalf of AnimeVice to take cosplay photos and to write a feature on cosplaying for the site, with interviews and images taken from the convention to be used in a article that I will publish the following week.

Other than that, I have the 2011 Sprint All-Star Race, 2011 INDY 500, and 2011 Coke 600 that I will have to record on the DVR (will be gone on the days that the races are on). I can watch them after I return from FanimeCon.
